How to apply for Bachelor studies in Finland- Application Procedure 2016

If you are planning for your degree studies in Finland for  2016, it is the right time to apply for bachelor studies via joint application. The online application started 8th January and ends on 27th January 3pm, Finnish time.

You can apply upto 6 different study options or UAS through a single joint application. A mandatory  application fee of €100 is introduced for the applicants who are applying on the basis of qualification completed outside EU/EEA and  Switzerland. Click here to read more about application fee.

After you are done with the online application , Post photocopies of your academic certificates to the required college. The postal addresses are mentioned in the email you receive. If you have applied for the similar degree program, you will post certificate to only first choice university. In case of confusion, contact corresponding universities and mention your situation.

Please go through the following steps to fill the application for 2016 Autumn session.

  1. The application form is tabbed in 7 different headings. You have to go through all the headings sincerely and input your information accurately. 1Personal Data , 2Eligibility, 3Study Programme Choices, 4Knowledge and Experience, 5Additional Information, 6Agree and Submit, 7Ready.
  2. Before you start your application, make sure you know where and what studies you are applying. Click here to see all the study options available for 2016 Autumn session. Choose 6 different studies/university you wish to apply and note it down from the list.  
  3. Get your personal information , including educational certificate with you. You need them for your application.
  4.  Click here to open the  online application  portal.   
  5. PERSONAL DATA-  Name.citizenship,address,email, etc are to be filled in this heading .
    Click on the image to see how it looks like. Fill your details accurately.
  6. Eligibility: Input your academic details here . If your previous education is completed outside EU/EEA or Switzerland , you have to pay an application fee of €100. 
  7. Study Programme Choices: Select up-to 6 different study options here. See the list of Universities /courses here .  Choose the university and corresponding degree. Note: You can change the study program through out the application period.

  8. Knowledge & Experience: Check your additional language requirement- Ielts-Toefl.etc  
  9. Additional Information: Check all the boxes whether or not UAS contact you via email and preview your information. 
  10. Agree & Submit: You are almost done with your application. Now submit it. 
  11. Ready: You are done . Now check your email. Note down your application number . Pay the application fee before 27th January and post copies of your certificate to the first preferred university before 10th February. You will get an email about how to pay the fee.

Language Requirements:
Language proficiency may be demonstrated with the following minimum certificate requirements:
  • Cambridge ESOL’s Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), level C; or
  • Cambridge ESOL’s Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), CEFR level C1; or
  • Pearson test of English, Academic 51; or
  • IELTS, academic level 6.0; or
  • TOEFL 550 paper-based test/TOEFL 79 Internet-based test; or
  • skills level 4 in a National Certificate of Language Proficiency test in all areas of the English language, including reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking and writing; or
  • Advanced International Certificate of Education Diploma (AICE) taken in Finland;
  • Finnish matriculation examination: grade C in the advanced syllabus test in the English language;
  • IB Diploma: grade 4 in the advanced syllabus test in the English language;
  • EB Diploma: grade 6.00–6.95 in the advanced syllabus test in the English language;
  • RP Diploma: grade 7 in the advanced syllabus test in the English language; or
  • an upper secondary level certificate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed in English in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand as well as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed in English in an EU/EEA country.
The language certificate must be valid during the application period. The Pearson test of English, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are valid for two years. There are no limitations on the period of validity of the other certificates. A TOEFL test score will only be accepted if it has been directly submitted from the TOEFL Educational Testing Service (ETS).
